In continuing to explore the hidden world of shell investment properties, this series digs into LLCs (ie ‘limited liability companies’), and the individuals or families behind them, that are most impacting the housing landscape in the Los Angeles area. Thanks to some excellent research by UCLA the Luskin Institute for Inequality and Democracy, and aided by a housing owner mapping tool called OWN IT, I’m able to pinpoint (literally and figuratively) where the properties of these LLCs are across the city.
